Dear brothers and sisters,
Following the statement from the Prime Minister yesterday advising people not to visit public spaces and a subsequent message from the Archbishop of Canterbury today advising churches to close to public worship we have taken the decision to close down our worship from Wednesday 18 March until the end of April. We will review this time frame as the coming weeks unfold.
This closure will affect the Café, our Events, Shop and Brass Rubbing, Box Office, lunchtime and evening concerts, our music programmes and activities, our work with Heart Edge, our daily acts of worship. It will also impact on the supporting teams in marketing, premises, finance and administration.
There will be no public acts of worship although we plan to stream some services which will be recorded in a closed church. The church will open for prayer for a reduced number of hours each day. Details will be on the website.
All public services are on hold but there will be live stream or podcast - including 10am service in English and 1.30pm service in Cantonese and Mandarin.
A closure on this scale is unprecedented and there is a lot of uncertainty as to how long we will need to be closed for.
